Your Day-by-Day Journey
DAY 1

Cusco – Paucartambo – Tres Cruces – Atalaya Port – Amazon Treehouse

Meals: Lunch, Dinner Amazon Treehouse Lodge
  • Early Morning: Your expedition begins at 04:30 AM with a direct pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco. We will set off towards the Andes, stopping at the picturesque colonial town of Paucartambo for coffee or a traditional breakfast.
  • Morning: We continue to Tres Cruces (Acjanaco – 3,900 m / 12,795 ft), the highest point of the route and the official entrance to Manu National Park. Descend into the lush cloud forest of the Manu rainforest, searching for monkeys and the iconic Cock-of-the-Rock.
  • Midday: We stop at the charming Hummingbird Garden to enjoy a relaxing lunch surrounded by dozens of colorful hummingbirds in flight.
  • Afternoon: Head to Atalaya Port, where we board a motorized boat to navigate the mighty Alto Madre de Dios River toward the Palotoa River basin. The jungle unfolds to reveal capybaras, riverbirds, and abundant wildlife.
  • Sunset: At the mouth of the Palotoa River, we transfer to a peke-peke. After an hour of peaceful navigation, we arrive at our exclusive Amazon Treehouse Lodge.
DAY 2

Parrot Clay Lick – Primary Jungle Hike – Oxbow Lake & Night Safari

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Amazon Treehouse Lodge
  • Dawn: We set out before first light for the Parrot and Macaw Clay Lick, one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles of Manu National Park, where hundreds of colorful birds gather on mineral-rich clay cliffs.
  • Morning: Embark on an interpretive nature walk along jungle trails, where your guide will share the ancestral secrets of medicinal plants. We then return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast.
  • Tracking Hike: Following breakfast, we launch a deeper Manu rainforest exploration to track wild pumas, anteaters, sloths, and tapirs in their natural habitat.
  • Midday: We return to the lodge for a satisfying lunch specially prepared by our kitchen team.
  • Afternoon & Night: Excursion to a small lagoon (cocha) attracting toucans and white caimans. At dusk, we venture into an exciting night safari to discover glass frogs, reptiles, boas, and the symphony of the rainforest.
DAY 3

Amazon Treehouse – Deep Jungle Exploration – River Tubing & Bonfire

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Amazon Treehouse Lodge
  • Morning: After breakfast, a short 5-minute boat ride takes us across the Palotoa River. Accompanied by our native guide, we venture into a remote sector of the rainforest for a 3-hour hike. Walk among giant ancestral trees and untouched landscapes.
  • Midday: We return to the lodge for a well-deserved buffet lunch and time to unwind.
  • Afternoon: Time to relax! Experience the fun of river tubing, floating gently down the crystal-clear, refreshing waters of the Palotoa River.
  • Sunset & Night: As night falls, we gather around a cozy bonfire under the stars. Our native guide will demonstrate ancestral Amazonian cooking techniques, preparing traditional Pacamuto. Grab your flashlights once more for a short night walk to bid farewell.
DAY 4

Amazon Treehouse Lodge – Atalaya Pier – Paucartambo – Cusco

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Return Journey
  • Morning: Enjoy a final breakfast at the lodge to the ambient sounds of the Amazonian sunrise. Afterwards, we board our boat back to Atalaya Pier, where our private transport awaits.
  • Midday: On the scenic drive back through the cloud forest, we stop once more in Paucartambo for a farewell lunch.
  • 05:00 PM: Estimated arrival time in Cusco with a direct transfer back to your hotel.
