Expedition Itinerary
Cusco – Paucartambo – Cloud Forest – Hummingbird Garden
- Dawn: Early private transfer from your hotel in Cusco. Journey through the majestic Andean mountains to the traditional town of Paucartambo for breakfast.
- Morning: Drive up to the Tres Cruces Lookout (3,900 m / 12,795 ft) for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Amazon Basin. Descend into the Manu Cloud Forest for a guided nature walk to spot Peru’s vibrant national bird.
- Afternoon: Enjoy a scenic lunch surrounded by nature at a local hummingbird garden. Arrive at Puerto Santa Cruz and board a traditional motorized riverboat (peke-peke) to navigate the Palotoa River.
- Evening: Warm welcome by our local team and check-in. Savor an authentic Amazonian dinner, followed by an introductory night jungle walk to observe nocturnal wildlife.
Macaw & Parrot Clay Lick – River Tubing & Night Safari
- Dawn: Early morning trek to the nearby Macaw & Parrot Clay Lick. Witness hundreds of colorful parrots and macaws gathering at the clay cliffs to consume essential mineral salts.
- Morning: Return to the lodge for a traditional rainforest breakfast. Set out on an exclusive guided jungle trail hike to discover ancient giant trees, medicinal plants, and wild monkey troops.
- Afternoon: Amazonian buffet lunch at the lodge. Spend the afternoon river tubing down the crystal-clear waters of the Palotoa River.
- Night: Dinner at the lodge, followed by an adventurous night safari at rainforest trails in search of tarantulas, snakes, and exotic tree frogs.
Amazon Treehouse Lodge – Santa Cruz Port – Cusco
- Dawn: Native breakfast at Amazon Treehouse Lodge. Board our riverboat for a final scenic ride back to Santa Cruz Port.
- Morning: Board our private vehicle for the return journey to Cusco, traveling back through the Cloud Forest and the Andes.
- Arrival: Drop-off at your Cusco hotel around 05:00 PM.

You will stay in elevated treehouse rooms equipped with private bathrooms, hot showers, mosquito netting, and scenic views over the Palotoa River.
The dry season (mid-April to October) offers optimal trail conditions. However, wildlife can be spotted year-round, and the green season brings lush rainforest scenery.
You can safely leave your main suitcases in the free luggage storage room of your hotel or hostel in Cusco. We recommend packing only a small duffel bag or backpack (max 30–40 kg) for the jungle.
The difficulty level is rated as moderate due to short nature walks and the remote rainforest setting. It is suitable for travelers with average fitness levels.
