Itinerary
Manu Rainforest Tour

Day 1Cusco – Paucartambo – Atayala port – Amazon Treehouse

Your expedition to Manu begins early in the morning, when we’ll pick you up at your accommodation in Cusco. In a private vehicle, you’ll embark on a journey that takes you from the Andean grasslands to the Amazon, where you’ll be able to admire the imposing Andean mountains along the way.

We’ll start our tour with a stop in Paucartambo. This traditional Andean village, located at an altitude of 2,906 meters, is one of the most impressive places in Peru. While we enjoy breakfast,

After Paucartambo, we’ll head to the breathtaking Tres Cruces viewpoint or Paso de Acjano. It’s located west of the Manu rainforest, at a maximum altitude of 3,900 m (12,795 ft). The pass offers an unparalleled view of the Amazon basin.

Next, we will head to the Manu Cloud Forest, where, during this excursion, you will have the opportunity to explore unique orchid plantations and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Don’t miss the chance to spot the Andean cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird, as well as capuchin and woolly monkeys.

– Lunch will be served in the hummingbird garden, where you will have the opportunity to observe many species of hummingbirds.

Our car journey ends at the port of Atalaya,

and we will continue by motorboat through the waters of the Madre de Dios River, 2-hour boat ride that gives us the chance to enjoy the journey surrounded by rainforest and macaws guiding us to our destination in the Amazon, to the Palotoa River, which originates in the heart of the jungle.

We set out to navigate the Palotoa River in a smaller boat called a “Pequepeque” (designed for shallow rivers)

After a hearty, energizing breakfast, we begin our hike along one of the trails to explore, immersing ourselves in the vegetation in search of wildlife, including diverse species such as the sajino, armadillo, or sloth.
