Embark on your Manu Amazon Tours with an early morning collection from your Cusco hotel. Our private transport will smoothly transition you from the Andean landscape to the expansive Amazon.

The first destination is Paucartambo, perched at an elevation of 2906 meters, where you’ll savor a traditional breakfast as your guide enlightens you on the local customs and culture. After imbibing the historic essence of Paucartambo, we’ll journey to the Tres Cruces or Acjano viewpoint.

Resting at a breathtaking 3900 meters (12795 ft), it’s the zenith of our Manu National Park tour from Cusco, granting stunning views of the Amazon basin.

Following this spectacle, we’ll delve into the Manu Cloud Forest, showcasing its diverse flora, fauna, and orchid farms. The forest is a sanctuary for Peru’s National Bird, the Andean cock of the rock, and distinct wildlife like the cappuccino monkey and wooly monkey. After a local lunch, we’ll transport you to Atalaya Port, where a motorboat journey along the Madre de Dios River awaits.

Here, more bird species, including the regal harpy eagle, and numerous butterfly species can be spotted. A short pause precedes another boat ride that takes us to the Manu Rainforest Lodge, deeply embedded in the Peruvian Amazon. After checking in and a unique Amazonian dinner, an optional brief night hike to spot nocturnal inhabitants is available.

Day 2Manu Rainforest Lodge - Jungle Tour - Treehouse INN

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off on a boat ride on the Manu and Palotoa Rivers. Our boat, the “peke peke”, is named after the sound of its motor. We’ll sail deep into the Manu Jungle to reach our private Treehouse INN.

Nestled within the depths of the Manu Jungle, Treehouse INN is exclusive to our guests. The boat ride from Manu Rainforest Lodge to the Inn reveals stunning cloud forests. You might see various mammals and rodents, including Capybaras.

On arrival at the Treehouse INN, our crew will greet you warmly. You’ll check into your rooms before we start our exploration of the surrounding area. This guided trail may lead you to giant trees, unique animals, and diverse bird species.

Our tour guide will also introduce you to local medicinal plants. The indigenous people rely on these for curing sicknesses.

After this hike, we’ll head back to the lodge for lunch.

Post-lunch, we’ll embark on a longer trail, taking you further into the Manu Jungle. Keep an eye out for Native Birds. You might spot brilliantly colored Macaws and parrots, flitting hummingbirds, and industrious woodpeckers among others.

As the sun sets, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner. A short night walk follows. You might encounter nocturnal creatures like howler monkeys. Kalinoski rats, pygmy owls, tarantulas, spiders, and coral snakes are also native to the area.

The Amazon rainforest is beautiful. I really liked going to the Macaw Clay licks. The short jungle trips were also fascinating.
